Our Vision

The Institute for Data Engineering and Science at Georgia Tech promotes interdisciplinary research in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, and the application of these methods in arts, sciences, and engineering.

Build a vibrant interdisciplinary research community

developing and applying new methodologies in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing. Use these technologies to make advances that would not have happened without excellence in both data science and domain science, across a wide range of disciplines including materials, health, and music. Provide thought leadership in identifying and defining emerging areas of research in AI and its applications. Build collaborative teams who can advance research with data science techniques, and who can respond to multi-investigator funding opportunities.
